Mariana Mendivil (Hermosillo, Sonora, 1995) Hace cine, collage y stop motion. Egresada de la Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas (ENAC-UNAM) como realizadora cinematográfica y de Bande a Part en Barcelona, donde estudió un diplomado en guion. Premio FICUNAM al mejor cortometraje en la Selección Aciertos por Memoria de un cuerpo desplazado. Premio al mejor cine minuto con dispositivo móvil del 7º Festival Metropolitano de Cineminuto y Narrativas Breves por Trayecto. Su trabajo de collage análogo ha sido exhibido en exposiciones internacionales, como en la Bibart Biennale Internazionale en Bari, Italia (2021), como en exposiciones colectivas en diversos estados como Oaxaca, Baja California Norte, Michoacán, la Ciudad de México, entre otros. Restos es su exposición individual que se presentó en Ciudad de México y en Morelia (2021). Su video-instalación de danza fue exhibida en el MUAC en el marco del proyecto Incrsutaciones (Cátedra Gloria Contreras, UNAM). Becaria del Programa de Estímulo de la Creación y Desarrollo Artístico del Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Sonora (PECDA-FECAS) 2017-2018 y del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) para Jóvenes Creadores en la categoría de Video 2022-2023. Recientemente recibió el CV Mexico Nun & Duss 2023 Production Grant, en apoyo a talentos emergentes de México en documental y producción de cortometrajes por la Norman J. Fisher and Doris Fisher Foundation; fue seleccionada para FOCINE (Programa de fomento al cine mexicano), para postproducción del cortometraje Una parvada de estruendo.

Mariana Mendivil (Hermosillo, Sonora, 1995) is a filmmaker, collage artist, and stop-motion animator. She graduated from the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC-UNAM) as a film director and studied screenwriting at Bande a Part in Barcelona. She won the FICUNAM award for best short film in the Aciertos Selection for "Memoria de un cuerpo desplazado" and the best mobile device short film at the 7th Metropolitan Festival of Short Film and Brief Narratives for "Trayecto." Her analog collage work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Bibart Biennale Internazionale in Bari, Italy (2021), and in group exhibitions across various states such as Oaxaca, Baja California Norte, Michoacán, and Mexico City, among others. "Restos" is her solo exhibition that was presented in Mexico City and Morelia (2021). Her dance video installation was exhibited at the MUAC as part of the Incrustaciones project (Gloria Contreras Chair, UNAM). She was a recipient of the State Fund for Culture and the Arts of Sonora (PECDA-FECAS) 2017-2018 and the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) for Young Creators in the Video category 2022-2023. Recently, she received the CV Mexico Nun & Duss 2023 Production Grant, supporting emerging Mexican talents in documentary and short film production by the Norman J. Fisher and Doris Fisher Foundation. She was selected for FOCINE (Program for the Promotion of Mexican Cinema) for the post-production of the short film "Una parvada de estruendo."
